The short answer is maybe. The long answer is maybe but… You can’t just look at one event or even at a series of events or headline and say this must be it. I believe the Bible says that we will see the Antichrist revealed before Jesus comes back. I think Jesus’ return is not imminent but will come after more events build towards that time. I think the whole end times can be viewed this way. The end times are like a puzzle, each piece is put into place and the picture becomes more clear. When you see things like what is happening with wars and rumors or wars in the Middle East and the global economic problems, it may be hard not to jump on the end time bandwagon and think that any time the tribulation or the rapture may start.
It seems that in history things build over time, occasionally there are large jumps but usually looking back many things should have been seen coming when the events are more clearly examined. One buzzword or buzz idea that people have speculated about in end times circle and without is the idea of global government. You may think one world government and new world order talk are just conspiracy theories but even if you don’t believe in human conspiracies, we know that Satan is continually working against us and he is conspiring to destroy humanity. We would be foolish to think he is just throwing everything at us every day and that is the extent of his plan. It is much more likely he has a plan that he is advancing to destroy mankind over time.
While we may or may not be in the end times, look at each event not as a triggering event to the end times but as another piece falling in place that will bring us closer to the end times. Even when a war is avoided or ended do not think that we have necessarily stepped back from the brink for now but consider what was accomplished by the event that may bring us closer to the next end time event.
